Is anything too hard for the Lord? The truth is nothing. Nevertheless, there are still things God cannot do.
The scripture is filled with promises God made through His Son.
However, men have twisted what God said to suit what they think should be true.
The scripture cannot be broken. If God said it, He is bound to do it.
Hence, the promise of redemption made through His Son to a sinful world.
There is no doubt that the world is filled with all sorts of sins.
Nevertheless, do you think God plans to take His eyes off the world?
The answer is no. God does not plan to quit His work in the world. To quit saving the world is one of the things God cannot do.
His patience is to see as many people saved. He does not plan to destroy the world. Christ is the savior of the world.
Through His death on the cross, there are a number things God cannot do to a sinner that dares run to Him through Christ.
The world suggests God is angry at the world.
Some have said that God owes Sodom and Gomorra an explanation if he refuses to punish the world for all the atrocities.
God owes no man any explanation.
You cannot judge the present world with people that did not live under the covenant made through the blood of Christ.
Hence, the following are the things God cannot do to a sinner no matter how bad you (or they) may be.
Reject a sinner that comes to Him for salvation.
All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. John 6:37.
There is no sin too big for God to forgive.
This may sound ridiculous but it is the truth.
God is in the business of saving sinners.
If you think the situation of the world is getting out of hand then God is very much interested.
The problem is that you might find it hard to believe how good God is.
If I told you that God forgave all the killers, prostitutes and armed robbers in the world when Christ died on the cross, what would you say?
I am in no way saying there are no consequences for sins. However, there is no more punishment for sin.
The punishment that comes with sin is separation from God. This leads to condemnation.
God in His mercy and foreknowledge placed all punishment on the body of Jesus Christ.
God already forgave all sins. The devil still blinds people from seeing this truth. Not forgiving a sinner is the number one thing in the list of things God cannot do.
Once you make Jesus Christ your Lord, God cannot cast you away.
The verse above says all that comes to me I will not cast them out.
There is a double negation in the verse above.
What that means is that there is nothing you or anyone can do that would make Christ reject you.
If you dare come to Him for salvation, you will get it once and for all time.
Have you made Jesus your Lord? If yes, I celebrate with you. If no, it is not as hard as you think.
All you have to do is repeat the following word and you have salvation.
Lord Jesus, I confess you as my Lord and savior. I believe that you died on the cross on my behalf. I receive the gift of salvation and righteousness. Thank you for saving me, In Jesus name, Amen.
If you just made that declaration, you are born again.
Refuse to forgive a sin.
After making Jesus your Lord you will make mistakes.
The reason you need to know this is because the devil can make you believe God will not tolerate your mistakes.
God forgave all sins when Christ hung on the cross.
You may ask, what if I continue to sin without stopping?
I will respond by saying this happens because you do not know who you are and what you have in Christ.
Not forgiving your sins is one of the things God cannot do. This is because he already forgave you in Christ Jesus.
The reason I emphasize this point is because it is easy to forget.
It is easier to remember the entire wrath God will unleash and forget the truth that all your sins are already forgiven.
Paul quoted David from Psalm 32 in the verse above.
If you read it carefully you will notice that it says God will not impute sin to you.
What that means is that it doesn’t matter what you do after you’ve accepted Jesus Christ, God will not impute it to you.
Imputation means you have to pay for it. However, Jesus Christ already paid for it.
One argument that comes up when discussing this truth of the gospel is…
… it will give you the license to continue in sin.
Look around you. People do not need a license to sin.
You didn’t get a permit from your church to commit your last sin, right?
Sin continues even among believers because they neglect this truth.
Knowing this truth will not lead to more sin. It will make you fall in love with your Lord and savior Jesus Christ.
Refuse to forgive a repeated sin.
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 1 John 1:7
A repeated sin happens when you are in a vicious cycle not knowing how to break out.
Such problem makes you doubt if God is still with you.
Some teaching suggests that when you make the same mistakes over and over again as a child of God…
…The Holy Spirit leaves you to resolve issues in your life before He returns to you.
As pious as that sounds it is not scriptural.
The Holy Spirit is your helper. He doesn’t leave you to resolve issues in your life before walking with you.
He helps you resolve issues in your life while you are struggling with the issue.
Emmanuel, are you saying the Spirit does not leave me when I sin?
That is exactly what I am saying.
The only reason you have the Holy Spirit in the first place is that Jesus Christ is at the right hand of the Father.
Does Jesus Christ remain glorified? Yes, then you continue to have the Holy Spirit.
Consider what the scripture above says.
The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses you in the light.
Did you get the point?
The reason you need the blood of Jesus Christ is because of sins in your life.
And the blood is available within the light of God.
What that means is that your mistakes do not take you outside the light of God.
Hence you ought to desist from any thinking that suggests the Holy Spirit leaves you because of your mistakes.
Such thinking perpetuates the cycle of defeat.
If you are conscious of the Lord’s presence when you struggle, His presence will dispel the desire to sin.
A simple way to practice the presence of the Lord is to say – “ THANK YOU JESUS”.
Refusing to forgive and help you, deal with repeated sin is one of the things God cannot do.
Condemn a believer in Him.
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil John 3:18-19
If you believe the Holy Spirit leaves you when you sin…
…Then you believe it is possible for a believer to lose his/her salvation.
Both assumptions are wrong. Leaving you when you make a mistake is one of the things God cannot do.
One criterion to make heaven – Believe and confess Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior.
This is so simple but perverse teachings have made it hard.
God made salvation available to all through His Son.
Salvation is not dependent on what you do or do not do.
It all depends on Jesus Christ.
If you believe this then you know that it is not possible for you to lose your salvation.
God cannot condemn anyone that dares makes Jesus Christ his/her Lord and savior.
Believe in Jesus and you have salvation. Refusing His saving Grace is saying yes to condemnation.
Condemning a sinner that confesses Jesus Christ as Lord is one of the things God cannot do.
Give up on a sinner.
God does not give up on any sinner until they draw their last breath.
Giving up on the sinner is one of the things God cannot do.
Not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
God never gives up on any sinner.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
God sent his son for the salvation of the world.
You may have heard that if the world continues in the ways of sin that God will take His hand off.
By sending Jesus Christ to die on the cross, God committed himself to the salvation of the world.
It doesn’t matter how dark it gets, God is not willing that any should perish.
It is human to be good to those who are good to you and vice versa.
However, it is divine for someone to love you even when you don’t deserve it and that’s what God did.
God sent His Son to die while you were still a sinner.
Hence, because of the advance payment God made for sins, He will not give up anyone.
If it seems sin is increasing, God’s grace is super abounding for as many as would dare believe in Jesus Christ.
God is all powerful. There are many things God cannot do.
His major concern lies with a sinner that has not made Jesus Christ his/her Lord.
The reason God sent His Son to die is for the world.
God loves the world. Sin might be increasing in an alarming sale. Grace is super abounding to the chief sinners.
In His mercies, the following are things God cannot do; Reject a sinner that comes to Him for salvation
- Reject a sinner that comes to Him for salvation
- Refuse to forgive a sin
- Refuse to forgive a repeated sin
- Condemn a believer
- Give up on a sinner.
Through the cross, God entered a peace covenant with you and the world.
Some have assumed God will lose His patience. God is not man.
Christ proved God’s patience and love on the cross.
He loved you while you didn’t even know the need of His salvation.
Now that you have made Him your Lord and savior, nothing will take you away from Him.
