Christians are superhuman, don’t live a miserable life and claim it’s piety.

November 9, 2018 By Emmanuel Onwuka

Christians are superhuman

I never knew using microwaves could be more complicated as it looks.

The first few months after buying my microwave I defrosted refrigerated food by removing it from the fridge and putting it in a bowl full of water.

Then microwaved it afterwards. Lame right? I didn’t know better.

One day while visiting a neighbour I discovered I could defrost my food faster and microwave it almost immediately.

Since we didn’t use the same make of microwave I had to search for the manual of my microwave and read up what my new machine could do.

I discovered my machine could do more than defrosting and microwaving food.

Call me stupid if you like but I acted like most people – assuming I knew all about something I didn’t create.

And this same problem happens to most Christians.

I once heard a preacher say “Christians are superhuman”.

It didn’t make sense. I guessed, at that time, he didn’t know what it means to be superhuman.

Consider Batman, Superman, wonder woman, Aquaman and of course Spiderman.

These guys are superhuman because marvel pictures have convinced us to believe so.

But saying Christians are superhuman felt like an insult to me.

I had money, emotional and other human issues that I felt I couldn’t control, yet this man dared to claim Christians are superhuman.

Unfortunately for me, I was wrong and he was right.

He already read and believed the designers manual and understood from scriptures that if you are a Christian you are superhuman.

But if you are like me at that time and haven’t considered the manufacturers manual, “THE HOLY BIBLE”, you are most likely not functioning optimally.

And this is where the challenge comes for you.

You might consider you know all there is to know about your life and what you have to do about all the problems in your life. You are wrong. There is more to know and believe.

You need to read the manual – Holy Bible – to find out who you are.

Consider what the psalmist said in Psalms 82.

God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.

How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.

Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.

Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.

They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.

I have said, Ye are gods, and all of you are children of the most High.

But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.

Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.

You are all gods!

Wow.

Did you see that? You are a god!

If you are into Greek mythology you know how invincible those false gods felt.

They live the way they want and do whatever they like. Everything they will ever need is at their disposal.

And the psalmist said, “you are a god”.

Unlike the gods of the greek that is false, you have the true identity of a god. Because you are the offering of the creator God himself.

Knowing this opens you up to the truth that all Christians are superhuman.

The problem is only that you find it hard to believe this truth.

This takes me to the story my Father told me almost 50 times before he passed.

The story is about a hunter that went hunting on the top of a mountain and came back with the egg of an eagle.

Because he knew the source of the egg, he decided to put the egg under a hen that was incubating her eggs at the time.

The egg hatched an eagle and dwelt amongst chicken.

As time passed the eagle will look up and see other birds, including eagles flying and something inside him, knew he was meant to fly.

But because he had lived, fed and played like a chicken, his environment limited him.

Until one day he decided to dry flying to the roof of the hunter’s hut.

The eagle did this for some time and noticed that getting to the roof was easier and faster for him compared to other birds around him.

One day against all odds he tried flying to the top a tree. He soon discovered that was also so easy for him.

And eventually, he took off and became who his creator made him.

Like this eagle, all Christians are created soar. Christians are superhuman but only a few know it.

You may be asking, how am supposed to live this life?

What must I do to live the life God created for me to live?

It all comes back to reading the owners manual.

Remember that I didn’t believe the preacher when he said all Christians are superhuman.

I didn’t believe because I didn’t know better.

And I don’t claim to be living the superhuman Christian life at the moment.

But what I know is that I have started reading the manual to know what the Father made for me.

Consider some of the promise of the Father to you-

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. John 14:26 NKJV

You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.  John 15:16 NKJV

And there is more. You have to open the manual to find out for yourself.

There was a part of the eagle’s story that made him almost discouraged to become who he is.

The chicken around him discouraged him from his search for who he is.

They tried to convince him that he is a chicken. Yet the voice inside never stopped telling him he was more.

You live in a world where there is so much unbelief.

A system is already in place to make your life normal adaptive to the environment you find yourself.

And anytime you try to go against the system, the chickens around you would try to talk you out of it.

This is in no way belittling anyone. But there are some people who would not believe the psalmist, though they are Christians.

They have a limited mentality of who they are and who the Father created them to be.

Every Christian who dared to followed the God-nature in them are criticised by those who don’t know who they are.

Don’t stand in the band of those who talk about others.

Be part of those who are taking the stand for their Lord and living the life they have been called to live.

How then can you start living this life?

Start by going back to the manual.

You can listen to people preach about the Word and that is very good.

Yet you want the writer of the manual to open your eyes to see what He put there for you.

Consciously spend time in the manual and find out what the Father did and is still doing for you at the moment.

Only then will the phrase, Christians are superhuman, become a reality to you.

Thank you for reading!

How to deal with the guilt and condemnation that comes from Porn addiction.

September 18, 2018 By Emmanuel Onwuka Leave a Comment

guilt and condemnation

Guilt and condemnation come after you sin because of wrong believing.

Wrong believing is a result of wrong teaching. And as you continue to believe wrong you will continue to produce wrong results.

As a note of warning, what you are about to read will challenge some doctrines you believe.

Yet, be sure that I won’t take you beyond where the Bible goes. I will show how believing right is key to being free from guilt and condemnation even when you sin.

This freedom does not encourage you to continue in sin. Instead, it empowers you to live in the victory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Porn addiction is the “New Drug”. Like never before more views are recorded for pornographic videos online.

The reason for this post is because Christians have are also in the web of porn addiction.

Indulging in pornography as Christian triggers guilt and condemnation.

This problem is not limited to new believers. Some believers who have been in the faith for years also struggle with this addiction.

Although the scriptures didn’t mention porn and how to break the addiction, the scriptures mention holiness and how you can live in it.

One aspect of the teaching on holiness that has done more harm than good is the teaching that you have to earn your holiness by what you do.

The scripture says Christ Jesus is your wisdom, righteousness, redemptions, sanctification(holiness). 1 Corinthians 1:30

That means Jesus Christ is your holiness. You don’t have to struggle to live a holy life.

If you are struggling then you don’t have an understanding of what the Lord did for you.

Permit me to guide…

Guilt and condemnation is the number weapon of Satan.

In Pastor Joseph Princes book destined to reign, he shared a vision the Lord showed him about the root cause of peoples problem.

In that vision before stress, poverty, sickness, addiction can happen in your life, something deeper has gone wrong in your heart.

The deeper root is condemnation.

It is not about how stressed you are, neither is it about how broke you are. The Lord is not far from helping. But the problem is that you still brood on guilt and condemnation because of your past.

The more guilt and condemnation you harbour in your heart, the harder it is for the Lord to do His works in you.

Hence, your freedom from any form of addiction starts by knowing that there is no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1).

This is where it all starts. Not knowing this makes you a prey of the enemy.

If the enemy can make you feel guilt and condemnation about your last indulgence in porn, he can make you indulge one more time.

Thus feeling guilt and condemnation is not as holy as some people claim.

It empowers the enemy to continue his manipulations in your life.

Through the blood of Jesus Christ our Lord, you have been set free from all guilt and condemnation.

This is the truth you have to start with.

The scriptures makes this very clear…

There is therefore now no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1 NASB

He that hears my word and believes on Him that sent me hath everlasting life and will not come into condemnation. John 5:24

Even when you sin, the blood of Christ takes care of the guilt and condemnation.

Have a conscience void of sin

Do yourself a favour and wake up to the new covenant realities.

In this new covenant, a lot of things changed from the old covenant.

But the anomaly is that you might still believe the way the old covenant people believed.

The old covenant sacrifices initiated by Moses through the command of the Lord served as a covering for the sins of the people.

Their sins were not wiped away. God covered their sins until the true Lamb of God would come and take away the sin of the world.

This was a major problem for them because the sacrifices served as a reminder of their sins.

Their conscience was never void of sin.

Anytime they saw the killing and sprinkling of the blood of bulls and goats, it served as a reminder of sins.

The blood of animals was not potent enough to cleanse their conscience from sins. It perpetuated sins.

But there is a major difference between the blood of bulls and goats compared to the blood of our Christ.

The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses your conscience and makes it devoid of sin.

What that means is that the blood of Jesus Christ doesn’t serve as a reminder of your sins, it serves as a reminder of the forgiveness of your sins.

What you have to know is that God doesn’t forgive your sins because you ask Him for forgiveness, He forgives your sins because you have made Jesus Christ your Lord.

Guilt and condemnation should never come up in your heart.

This might be hard for you to start with but it is the truth you have to live by.

You have total forgiveness of sins and the blood of Jesus Christ is the guarantee of no guilt and condemnation.

The ever cleansing blood of Jesus Christ works for you.

Do you know God is with you when you watch porn?

He is not there with you to make you feel guilt and condemnation. The Lord is with you to point you to the way out when you are in sin.

You may have assumed that He leaves you when you are watching porn. But the case is otherwise.

He is your very present help in the time of your need.

There is beautiful verse in scripture that proves what you read above.

1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

Now notice that you are in fellowship with Him in the light and the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses you from all the sins in the light.

Unlike the suggestions in our popular doctrines, you don’t leave the light of God when you sin or are indulging in porn.

You are still in the light of God when you are good and when you are bad.

The reason you feel guilt and condemnation is because you think you leave the light when you sin.

If the enemy can make you believe and continue to believe this lie, he will continue to keep you in the cycle of defeat.

Another verse that proves you don’t leave the light of God when you sin is John 8:12.

…He that believeth on me will never walk in darkness.

According to the word of our Lord and saviour, if you believe you will never walk in darkness.

This is the key to defeating guilt and condemnation once and for all.

You are in the light of Christ the day you made Him Lord and you will never leave His light.

Replace your regrets with knowing you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

It is not enough to say don’t feel guilt and condemnation. You need something to replace the void that guilt and condemnation leave in your heart.

What you need is the righteousness of God in Christ.

You need to know and remain in this kind of righteousness because your life and mental well-being depend on it.

If you still believe in the righteousness that comes because of what you do, then you are getting it wrong.

Believing righteousness by works is one reason guilt and condemnation continues.

The new covenant righteousness is the righteousness of faith.

It is the kind of righteousness that comes by faith in Christ Jesus.

This righteousness is a gift. And because it is a gift you cannot lose it.

It is so important you believe this especially when you are watching porn.

God doesn’t see less of you neither is He far from you.

The problem is you feel less about yourself and think God is far from you.

But that is not the case. God is never far from you from the day you made the Lord Jesus your saviour to the day you join Him in heaven.

Thus when you make a mistake, like you know you will, it is important to remember His righteousness and not yours.

This is important in defeating guilt and condemnation.

You have the same righteousness our Lord Jesus Christ has. As He is, so are you in this world.

It is not about feeling guilt and condemnation, it is about knowing the heart of your saviour.

The heart of your saviour is for you to hold on to His righteousness. He sorts other problems when you hold on to His righteousness.

Satan wants you to focus on you and end up depressed.

You cant focus on you and your performance and overcome addiction to porn.

The way out of this problem is to know that even when you fail, you remain the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

Conclusion

Addiction to porn is the “New Drug”.

But this new drug was not meant for you as a new creation in Christ Jesus.

You already have the freedom you seek if you have made Jesus Christ your Lord and saviour.

Now all you have to do is to apply what He made available to you.

To apply His finished work you have to believe that there is no condemnation for you even when you make a mistake.

And that you have the righteousness of God as a gift.

The cycle of addiction to porn perpetuates with constant guilt and condemnation.

Our Lord does not condemn you even when you sin. He wants you to be free.

And the freedom you seek is in knowing that you have the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

Thanks for reading!

Please share your experience on how you overcame porn.

The big deal about the righteousness by faith in Christ Jesus.

September 18, 2018 By Emmanuel Onwuka Leave a Comment

righteousness by faith

Righteousness by faith is the only basis upon which you can stand in the presence of the Father.

Righteousness by faith and the righteousness by works exist hand in hand. But this ought not to be so.

This is because the righteousness by works cannot stand in the presence of God.

It is fickle. It fluctuates. You don’t want your stand before the Father sitting on a shaky foundation.

The reason the enemy reigned and still reign in some peoples life today is that of their ignorance about the righteousness by faith in Christ Jesus.

Don’t be ignorant of this kind of righteousness.

The righteousness that the Father acknowledges today is the righteousness by faith in Christ Jesus.

You cannot earn this kind of righteousness. It doesn’t depend on how good or bad your past was. Or dependent on your present performance.

It depends on what your Lord and saviour Jesus Christ did on the cross.

The righteousness by works was what Adam tried to do when he ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

It didn’t work then and it won’t work now.

The righteousness by faith is what our Lord ushered in throw His death and resurrection. This kind of righteousness is a gift. Here is how the Apostle Paul puts it in Romans 5:17

For if by the one man’s offence death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. Romans 5:17 NKJV

So you see righteousness is a gift. You don’t work hard to earn or claim a gift. You receive gifts!

The righteousness by faith in Christ Jesus is the gift of God to you today.

What then is the big deal of knowing the righteousness of faith in Christ Jesus?

It gives you access and boldness to approach the throne of God and make requests. And after making those requests it gives you an assurance that the Father hears your petition.

For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their prayers; 1 Peter 3:12

If you have believed that you are righteous based on your performance;

How will you be convinced that He hears your prayer when you know all the mistakes you have made?

The Israelites struggled with apostle Paul’s teaching on the righteousness by faith in Christ.

They resisted it and carried on their righteousness by works.

Romans 10 was a response to the ignorance of believing and depending on the righteousness by works.

For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

For Moses writes about the righteousness which is of the law, “The man who does those things shall live by them.” But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, Romans 10:2-6 NKJV

They tried to earn what the Father offered to them as a gift.

When that happens, you have limitations because your performance cannot measure up to God’s standards.

And if you believe you can’t measure up, you won’t have faith to believe the Father hears your petitions.

So righteousness by faith is what gives you boldness to stand in the presence of the Father and ask.

Now you see the big deal of knowing and depending on the righteousness by faith in Christ Jesus.

The righteousness by faith is the righteousness that speaks while the righteousness by works is the righteousness that does things or wants to perform.

If you believe the righteousness by works, it will affect your actions and behaviours. When you fail you will assume you can no longer stand in the Father’s presence.

But the righteousness by faith is dependent on your Christ. Either good or bad you are always accepted. And as you continue to speak His righteousness, you will awake to it and sin no more.

Ask this one question and find out how ignorant Christian’s are about their assurance in Christ.

September 14, 2018 By Emmanuel Onwuka Leave a Comment

Assurance in Christ.

What’re the criteria to make heaven and spend eternity with Christ Jesus?

This question shows if you know your assurance in Christ or not.

The usual response to this question includes;

Keep the commandment of God;

Serve God with all your heart and might;

Live a life devoid of sins and mistakes. And the list goes on.

None of these gives any assurance in Christ.

You can’t keep all the commandments and laws of God without mistakes.

Your service to the Father cannot be spotless. Sometimes your flesh will override what the Spirit says.

Neither can you live throughout your stay on earth after confessing Christ as your Lord and savior without making a mistake? No matter how small or big it is.

So if you go by the list I mentioned you cannot have assurance in Christ Jesus.

When you don’t have assurance in Christ, you will fear the possibility of losing your salvation.

And this is the most heinous of false doctrines you can listen to.

If there was no assurance in Christ that means your life hangs on a thread despite your belief in our Lord and savior.

Don’t be deceived either be ignorant of the premises of God through Christ Jesus.

Uncertainty about salvation in Christ does more harm than good. Which is the reason the apostles unequivocally stated a guarantee for you when you put your trust in Christ.

Here is how the apostle writes about the assurance in Christ…

For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. 1 Thessalonians 1:5

In other words, the gospel is not complete if there is no assurance in the preaching.

If you listen to preachers and teachers that make you doubt where you stand then you have to reconsider what you are listening to.

The gospel is the gospel of peace. It shows you how reconciled and welcomed you are to the house of God.

Does this then mean you can live anyhow you like knowing you have assurance in Christ?

Not it doesn’t. You can’t have the revelation of the assurance in Christ and live a wayward life.

Because the assurance in Christ comes by Grace. And because you are under grace sin will not have dominion over you.

The Thessalonians had this same struggle about the assurance in Christ and the apostle had to respond to them.

For this, we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep.

For the Lord, Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.

Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18.

The only criteria stated here is to be alive and remain. This is the assurance you have in Christ Jesus.

The No 1 Thing Your Pastor Is Not Telling You About The Christian Faith.

September 4, 2018 By Emmanuel Onwuka Leave a Comment

christian faith

You are in a marathon.

It is not about how fast or well you start. The Christian faith is all about how you finish.

In the course of your race, you will make mistakes. And those mistakes are what they are, mistakes.

Learn from them and move on. But the problem is that you still spend loads of time trying to correct the wrong you did in the past.

If that were possible in the Christian faith, you don’t need Jesus Christ.

Your past belongs to Jesus. So stop fussing about it and start living in the now. Offcourse with the assurance that God’s got your future.

I cringe when I hear preachers emphasize how the past still has sway over your future as a Christian.

If that were true then the Apostle Paul owes the church an apology for saying…

If any man is in Christ he is a new creature, old things are past away and behold all things have become new.

The Christian faith is not about your past.

It is about the work of Christ in your past. And the glorious future that awaits you because you trust in Him.

The past does have sway in the future of anyone who refuses to make Jesus their Lord.

No one goes to hell because for what they did while on earth. People go to hell because of what they refuse to do – confessing Jesus as Lord and savior.

But for you, making Jesus your Lord was the game changer.

So stop fretting about the past.

Your Christian faith will not be in vain.

This is assurance that you have in Christ Jesus.

If you still listen to a preacher that does not preach assurance in Christ, then you are not hearing the gospel.

A preacher that emphasizes the possibility of losing your salvation is misrepresenting Christ Jesus.

Christ is the head of the Christian faith.

And HE runs His church in own terms.

He saves and doesn’t threaten you.

Preachers who use threats in the name of making you obey the Lord, misrepresent Him.

The Christian faith is not the mafia and threat is not the way we go about it.

Your walk with the Lord comes from His love in you.

On any day or anytime you can decide to walk out on God and do whatever you like. The Father gives you the ability to choose.

Therefore, you can decide to run through life with Christ and follows His instructions; Or refuse His instructions and struggle all through your life.

Yet anyone who has tasted His grace and mercy never walks out Jesus Christ even when they make mistakes…

Because it is the love of Christ that controls you.

What you must know is that your Christian faith is a marathon. And in a marathon, you can have delays and not run as fast as others.

But as long as you keep moving and make it to the finish line, you have done enough.

In the marathon of life, there are no 1st positions. You either ran with Jesus or didn’t.

On hearing God; How to make smart choices and less mistakes.

August 2, 2018 By Emmanuel Onwuka Leave a Comment

hearing God

Do you agree that hearing God would solve all your problems faster and better?

What then would you give to hearing God speak with you daily and help you make wise choices?

If you said anything, then give me the next 10 minutes to help you solve the mystery of hearing God once and for all.

You want to get married but you don’t know who. The mistake of marrying the wrong person floods your mind. As a Christian, you don’t want a divorce after marriage. Hence hearing God for marriage is very critical.

You want to know what you should be doing now. Your purpose is not clear and you wish the heavens can open and an angel appears and tells you what you should be doing and how to go about it.

These are genuine concerns. And God knows about it. But the problem is that you have relegated hearing God to a mystic experience.

Hearing God is not that complicated.

As a matter of fact, God spoke to you more than once since you started reading this post but you most likely considered it as another random thought.

The problem is in waiting for a voice from the outside. That’s risky. Because demons can also speak to you from the outside.

Today you don’t have to wait for a voice from the outside. The Father, through His Spirit, speaks to you from the inside.

It is an internal guiding system. And you have been using this guiding system without knowing it.

Brace yourself as I show you how to know the leading of God and following it.

Hearing God starts and ends from the inside.

The problem with most new covenant believers is that they live with the old covenant belief system.

In the old covenant, the Holy Spirit wasn’t resident in anyone. He came upon kings, priest, and prophets.

And after speaking through them, He leaves them and they continued walking as mere men.

In the new covenant, the Holy Spirit lives in you.

He dwells in your and is there to help you with everything you would ever ask Him. Remember, everything you ask Him!

If this is true, as it is, why then have you relegated hearing God to certain people?

It is because you consider yourself not qualified to have the Spirit of Christ in you.

What you ought to know is that you have the Spirit if the Living God in you and all the directions and guidance you will ever need is already inside of you. You only have to train yourself to know and follow Him (more on this later).

So it is wrong for you to wait for people to tell you what God said about a situation you are going through.

Any prophet or man who claims to have heard God on your behalf, should confirm what you already know.

This was the case with the apostle Paul and the prophet Agabus. Paul knew what was waiting for him in Jerusalem before the prophet spoke. So it was no surprise that the Apostle already made up His mind on following Gods will instead of the misguided prophecy from the prophet.

You have the Spirit of God in you. Discerning His direction and guidance happens inside you. Sharpen your discernment by spending time with your Bible and praying in the spirit.

Don’t delegate your relationship with the Father to another man. You are a son/daughter of God. Act like one.

You are one spirit with the Lord.

But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. 1 Corinthians 6:17 KJV

Your relationship with the Holy Spirit is like a marriage. Your spirit and the Spirit of the Father is one.

Hence when you have an important decision to make, all you need do is ask. And follow what your spirit says.

So let’s say you want to know who you have to marry.

But before answering that question let me makes this very clear to you.

There is no one perfect person created in the universe for you.

When it’s time to get married, the Father gives you options and also guides you in making the decision from within. So before anyone prophesies about a husband or a wife to you, you have been considering marrying that person.

Also, you have to desist from the thoughts that there is no one out there to marry. If you desire to marry, ask the Lord in prayer and trust Him to bring you a spouse.

Now let me prove to you that you God leaves the choice of a partner to you, contrary to the so-called “will of God” mentality.

The daughters of Zelophehad

Zelophehad was an Israelite that died without a son.

Under the Law, his possession belonged to other close relatives because he didn’t have a son to inherit his estate.

But His daughters demanded their father’s inheritance to pass to them. When this matter came to Moses, he took it to the Lord and the Lord replied;

This is the thing which the Lord commanded concerning the daughters of Zelophehad, saying, Let them marry to whom they think best; only to the family of the tribe of their father shall they marry. Numbers 36:6

Zelophehad’s daughters would have access to his estate if they married from their father’s tribe. And they had the liberty to choose anyone they liked.

When it came to making a choice of whom to marry, the Lord gave these women a choice. They chose whoever they thought best.

So contrary to the popular opinion that God chooses for you, scriptures have it that you can choose who think is the best for you.

Hence the whole charade of hearing God for marriage will not be necessary for you if you maintained a consistent fellowship with Father.

Because when it is time to choose whom you think is the best, hearing God would have already been sorted. Hearing God, in the case of choosing a life partner, is simple when you have a consistent fellowship with Him.

This part of scripture is from the old testament and since a matter is established in the mouth of two or three witnesses, I will give you another verse from the new testament.

Apostles Paul’s advice to the Corinthian church.

Like the church today, the Corinthian church had questions about marriage and how to choose.

Again the apostle made it very clear that the decision does not lie with God. He gives you the right to choose who you would spend your life with. Here is how the apostle puts it…

The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband is dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord. 1 Corinthians 7:39

Same theme for both verses. You can marry whoever you wish to as long and they are believers.

The only condition the Lord specifies is that “you must marry a believer”. Every other thing is secondary.

I made all the points above to say – stop fussing about missing it in marriage. You will know if you are not supposed to marry someone.

The Spirit in you will tell you. A quick way to know this is to check if you have peace about marrying this person or not.

Everything might look good on the outside, but what does your heart say to you?

Remember that you are one spirit with the Lord. I would advise you commit that verse of scripture to heart.

The Spirit of the Father will either give you peace or take away your peace when it comes to settling down with someone.

If you have peace and the outside looks unsure, let your peace guide you.

But if everything on the outside looks great and you don’t have peace about it, then be very careful.

Let the peace of God guide you.

I have made reference to the peace of God without given you bible verses with it.

The reason I make this emphasis is that this same peace will guide you to know what you should focus on as a career in fulfilling your purpose.

But the comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:26-27 KJV

The Holy Spirit can teach you anything if you let the peace of God reign in your heart.

Now, how do you feel about the line of work you have chosen?

Are you at peace with yourself or do you sense you might regret your choice in 20 years time?

God created you with a passion for something. All you need do is to find what it is and follow your dreams.

The problem is that you are wondering how you can make a profit from your passion.

This is easier than you think it is. The answers you need lies in the pages of business books and literature.

The way it happened to me was that I stopped enjoying my work although I was good at it. I walked away from a promotion because of dissatisfaction from the inside. I didn’t see the full picture. But I knew it was time to follow my heart.

Like Tullian Tchividjian said…

It has taken me 46 years, but I am now convinced that one of the best things God does for us is to keep us from knowing anything beyond the next step.

You have to trust God enough to lead you one step at a time.

If you enjoy what you do and have all the fulfillment you think you need please carry on even if it gets harder.

Working in your passion doesn’t guarantee a smooth ride, but it gives you much fulfillment while you enjoy the journey.

Remember the heavens will not open and an angel will not come down. In hearing God for your purpose you have to trust God and let His peace guide you.

Conclusion.

The summary of all that I have written is that hearing God is easier when you have a consistent fellowship with Him.

If you hear an information for the first time from another source, instead of what you already know within, then you are not taking your fellowship with the Spirit of God serious.

This is not about attending church. Although that is very important.

It is about spending time to read the Bible and pray in the spirit.

As you do this, you build yourself to following His Spirit.

Also, when it comes to choosing a life partner, the Father lets you make the choice. The problem is that you’ve not taken time to know the way of the Father. This makes you uncertain when you have to make a choice.

This also result in allowing other people who you consider spiritual to hear from God on your behalf.

Don’t be like that! Don’t delegate your rights to the throne of Grace to others.

Your purpose is already in you.

What would you do for free for the rest of your life without receiving payment?

For me, it is writing/talking/teaching about Jesus and creating courses that help people know more about their saviour.

I can do that for free. But my courses and books are not free.

You have to find that one thing you love and also find a way for that one thing to bring money to you.

Remember, always let the peace of God rule your heart.

How do you hear from God when you want to make decision? Please share in a comment below.

10 privileges of being a new covenant believer you are most likely ignorant of.

July 18, 2018 By Emmanuel Onwuka Leave a Comment

new covenant believer

Being a new covenant believer is the best thing that would ever happen to you.

This is because you have Jesus Christ as your Lord. At the moment God deals with you as He deals with His Son.

The problem is that you might not know the privileges that are yours as a new covenant believer;

Or even if you know them you might find it hard to believe.

The reason you may find it hard to believe is that the privileges of the new covenant sound too good to be true.

Imagine an offer to make heaven because you confess Jesus Christ as Lord.

What about the promise of the total forgiveness of sins. It doesn’t matter what you did in the past, once you make Jesus Christ your Lord, you have total forgiveness of sin.

These are some privileges you might still find hard to believe. But this is the truth.

The following are the privileges of being a new covenant believer you are most likely, not aware of.

1. You have total forgiveness of all the sins you will ever forgive.

When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions, Colossians 2:13 NASB

This scares ignorant Christians.

The assumption is that if you know you have total forgiveness of sins you will take it for granted.

But the reverse is the case. You will continue wallowing in sins if you don’t believe the total forgiveness of sins.

The reason you have the forgiveness of sin is that you made Jesus Christ your Lord and savior.

It is not because of your good deeds or because of how quick you confess your sins.

As a new covenant believer, God the Father cannot hold any sin against you.

The blood of His Son Jesus Christ separates you from sins. You have been delivered and you remain delivered by the blood of the Lamb of God.

One struggle you have is that you think your mistakes will make God become angry with you.

And once God gets angry with you, He will bring the punishment of all your past sins upon you.

But all those beliefs are wrong. The forgiveness of sins happened once on the cross and it will never be repeated.

As a new covenant believer, you have to Live in this reality.

Remember that it is not about how much you confess your sins or the good or bad you do. You have the forgiveness of sins because of what Jesus Christ did on the cross.

2. As he is so are you in the world.

By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, so also are we in this world. 1 John 4:17 NASB

If you struggle with believing total forgiveness of sins as a new covenant believer, deal with this…

As Jesus is in heaven at the moment, so are you in this world.

Do you think Jesus is sinful in heaven? Do you think the Father sees Him as sin on His right hand?

The answer to both questions is no.

Our Lord Jesus at the right hand of the Father is holy, righteous, blessed, exalted and honored.

And the scripture says that all new covenant believer are as He is in heaven.

The limitation to living this victorious life in Christ Jesus is that you don’t know your position.

If you knew your position in Christ Jesus you won’t speak about yourself the way you do.

Yes, you may be making mistakes now, or have an addiction you are struggling with. But the solution is not in concentrating on those addictions or weakness.

You have to realize who you are and where you sit in Christ.

As a new covenant believer, you already have victory in Christ. You are not fighting for victory, you are fighting from victory.

That means no matter what happens you are already a victor.

Live in the consciousness that as Christ is in heaven so are you in this world.

This makes all the difference. Now you can face life knowing you have the backing of heaven in all you do.

3. You can never leave the light of Christ.

Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.”  John 8:12

I grew in the faith with the erroneous belief that my mistakes take me outside the light of Christ.

It hurts to hear people emphasize this same teaching today.

This has resulted in the belief that if you make a mistake when the trumpet sounds you might miss heaven.

I’ve heard people teach this doctrine vehemently with zest, but it doesn’t make it right.

If there is no assurance in Christ then you are wasting our time believing for a salvation that is uncertain.

The apostles preached the gospel with words, power, the Holy Ghost and with assurance.

As a new covenant believer, I assure you that your name is in heaven.

The conversation should no longer be about either making heaven or not, we should be talking about replacing the darkness that rules most part of our world with the light.

But when new covenant believers are not certain about what they have, how are you supposed to share your uncertain faith?

The verdict of the gospel is that once you make Jesus Christ your Lord, you move from darkness to light.

It is a once and for all transfer from according to Colossians 1:13.

When you make mistakes, you are corrected within the light.

According to scriptures, a new covenant believer doesn’t leave the light of Christ when you sin.

The cleaning process happens inside the light. Did you know this?

4. God does not remember your sins.

“FOR I WILL BE MERCIFUL TO THEIR INIQUITIES, AND I WILL REMEMBER THEIR SINS NO MORE.” Hebrews 8:12

“AND THEIR SINS AND THEIR LAWLESS DEEDS I WILL REMEMBER NO MORE.” Hebrews 10:17

Did you ever hear sermons that suggest a videotape in heaven that records all the good and bad things you do?

On the judgment day a big screen will show everything you did and if your good deed outweigh your evil deed you will enter heaven;

If otherwise, you will end in hell. How foolish we were to believe such fables.

There is no scripture that backs these lies.

The truth according to the scripture is that the Lord does not remember the sins of all new covenant believer.

This is not because the Lord has lost his memory, it is because of the potency of the blood of Jesus Christ our Lord.

His blood washed and still washes you today.

There is no trace of sin in your life in the Father’s eye. Because the blood of your savior Jesus Christ is speaking better things on your behalf.

When you assume God remembers your sins it doesn’t give freedom from self-condemnation.

Hence the blood of Christ deals with sins in your conscience.

If you have made Jesus Christ your Lord, you should henceforth have no more remembrance of sins.

All your sins are in the past in God’s eyes because of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The reason I say so is that the sacrifice of sins was made in the past.

And the scripture says that the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ dealt with sin once and for all time.

5. You have the same righteousness that Jesus has in heaven.

He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:21

The new covenant righteousness is right believing not right doing.

When you believe right as a new covenant believer you will live right.

The reason you live wrong sometimes is because you are not believing right.

Unlike the old covenant righteousness which comes by works, the new covenant righteousness is a gift.

You received it the day you made Jesus Christ your Lord and savior.

Remember that as Jesus is so are you in this world. That means you have the exact righteousness He has in heaven at the moment.

But the gap is that you are most likely trying to earn righteousness by what you do.

This is where the problem begins, trying to earn what God offers as a gift.

Imagine trying to earn the percentage of oxygen you inhale from God every day. That’s absurd, right?

That’s akin to trying to earn the ever abounding righteousness of Jesus Christ our Lord.

It doesn’t come on you based on how well you perform. Neither will you lose it based on how many mistakes you make.

Righteousness is yours because Jesus Christ is Lord of your Life.

At this moment you can approach God’s throne as if you have never and will never sin.

God sees you as righteous. He sees you clean. And you are accepted in the beloved because of our Lord Jesus Christ.

6. You cannot lose your righteous stand with God.

For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. Romans 5:17

it’s an unholy fear for you to assume you can lose your righteousness in Christ through sin.

This is not to advocate you continue to sin. If you are under the grace of Christ, sin will not have dominion over you. Romans 6:14

As a new covenant believer, you live in the realities of Daniel’s prophesy.

Christ Jesus brought everlasting righteousness. And He also offers it to you for free. Your righteousness as a new covenant believer is a gift.

You didn’t earn it because of your good works, neither can you lose it because of your mistakes.

It is important you know this because this will give you victory over temptations and sins.

Don’t assume you won’t make mistakes. This assumption is what leads people astray and make them wonder why they still make mistakes.

You will make mistakes. But knowing that your righteous stand in the presence of God remains the same is what you need to receive grace in the time of need.

Always remember that you have righteousness as a gift. You are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

7. You cannot come under condemnation.

“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life. John 5:24

There is therefore now no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus.

The major fear of the unlearned in the gospel is the possibility of losing their salvation.

You as a new covenant believer cannot lose your salvation and many scriptures prove this point.

Salvation is for all that have made Jesus Christ their Lord.

If you believe, you have salvation.

Believing is the only requirement. For a new covenant believer your place in eternity is sure and guaranteed.

The problem is that somehow people have removed the guarantee in the gospel of Christ.

This will lead you to fear when you ought to abound in the love and mercy of Christ.

Our Lord Jesus made it very clear in one of the most popular verses of the Bible.

For God so loved the world, that He sent His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.

This is our God!

8. The Holy Spirit convicts you of righteousness.

“And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment; 9concerning sin, because they do not believe in Me; and concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father and you no longer see Me; and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged. John 16:9-11

People believe the Holy Spirit convicts them when they sin. Do you also believe this?

If you notice from above the Holy Spirit convicts the world of one sin. Not plural, sins. He convicts the world for unbelief in Jesus Christ.

You had the same conviction before you made Jesus Christ your Lord.

After the conviction of unbelief, you are forever convicted as the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

You may have wrongly assumed that it is a good thing to speak negatively about yourself when you make a mistake…

But that is the wrong approach in your faith walk.

When you make a mistake the best response is to remind yourself that you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

This is the point where your confession agrees with the conviction of the Holy Spirit.

He doesn’t remind you of your mistakes. Your memory does a good job.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth that ministers the truth to all new covenant believer.

And the truth He ministers, when you make a mistake, is that you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

9.  You don’t need monthly deliverance.

A new covenant believer is a new creation. Old things have passed away, behold all things have become new.

As a new creation, you have the responsibilities to know the realities of the new creation.

This comes by studying the letters of Apostle Paul to the church.

It is absurd to preach that Christian needs deliverance from the powers of darkness.

You don’t need deliverance because you are already delivered by Christ Jesus.

The reason the deliverance ministry is thriving is that people want to believe that the root of their problem is somewhere out there.

But the major reason why faith does not work is that you have not believed the father’s love for you.

As a new covenant believer, you have been delivered through Christ and it is a once and for all activity.

Get busy with the scriptures.

Know who you are in Christ.

Find out your privileges as a new covenant believer. Then no demon or deacon can stand in your way.

10.  The Holy Spirit will remain with you forever.

“I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you. John 14:16-17

The Holy Spirit is your comforter, helper, teacher and He lives in you.

Our Lord Jesus made a promise that the Holy Spirit will never leave us.

This promise is both for when you are good and when are bad.

It is easy to believe the first part. But hard to believe the other part.

But it is the truth. The presence of the Holy Spirit will never be withdrawn from you.

He is in you to help and guide you. To make the journey through life more interesting and fun.

The Holy Spirit is God’s guarantee for all the promises you find in scripture.

One reason you might continue in a mistake is if you believe the Holy Spirit leaves you when you sin.

He is there to correct and admonish you. To remind you that you are still the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

Hence, no matter what you’ve done in the past or a few moments ago the Holy Spirit is still with you.

Be conscious of His presence at all times. This is hard but it is possible if you fond of practicing His presence by saying, Thank you Holy Spirit.

Conclusion

Your privileges as a new covenant believer are more than what I have listed above.

I’ve tried to show some of the important tenets of your Christian faith.

I made a lot of emphasis on the forgiveness of sin because according to scripture it is the first thing you have to know and believe.

I know there are more. Please share what you think I’ve missed in the comment below.

Can you be in the light and darkness as the same time as a Christian?

July 9, 2018 By Emmanuel Onwuka Leave a Comment

light and darkness

And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. John 1:5 NKJV

Are you scared of being outside the light of Christ when you make a mistake?

This fear is a result of a wrong belief that assumes you can be in the light today and in darkness tomorrow

This contradicts the word of God in Colossians 1:13.

The beautiful thing about that Bible verse is the word “translated”. It is a once and for all activity that cannot be repeated or reversed.

You have an assurance from the Lord of never returning to darkness when you make Jesus Christ your Lord and savior.

This belief on the possibility of being is light and darkness at the same time is as a result of a work mentality.

It assumes that you will remain in the light when you do good and leave the light when you sin.

There are no scripture proofs for this. Hence light and darkness cannot mix.

The work mentality is the reason for frustration in your faith.

Your being in the light is as a result of your making Jesus your Lord.

You didn’t do anything special when you made Jesus your Lord. You believed and confessed in faith.

Our Lord doesn’t have emotional swings. If He said you are light, He wouldn’t change His mind.

It is so important you understand and believe that light and darkness cannot mix because your life depends on it.

Being conscious of being in the light will make live the life of a child of God. And the consciousness of darkness will result in negative results.

The most important thing to know is your position in the light. Nothing can make you leave the light of Christ.

Light and darkness don’t have communion.

The incidence in Exodus when the children of Israel departed from Egypt is a proof that light and darkness cannot parley.

There was a separation between both camps.

And the light of the Lord made the separation evident.

The glory gave the people of Israel light and the camp of the Egyptians was in darkness.

All the people had to do for their deliverance from Egypt was to be in the camp of the Israelites.

You should note that the Israelites had issues. They were not right with God. This was a band of complainers and murmurers. But it didn’t matter.

They rejected Moses and Aaron when Pharaoh increased their task before the Exodus.

Quarreling, doubts, fear was amongst them.

But guess what, the Lord didn’t bother about all those things.

He dealt with the people based on His commands to Moses.

The only thing that would have lead to the demise of any Israelite was if they were in the same camp with the Egyptians.

But as long as they remained in the camp of the Jews, they were safe.

This is akin to being identified with the church of Christ today.

If you are have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord, you can’t be in light and darkness again.

You are once and for all translated into the light of the Lord.

Does this mean you are living without mistakes? No!

The reason you continue to live in mistakes and errors is that you don’t know and believe that you are in the light of Christ.

Like the Jews during the exodus, the light of Christ separates you from the darkness in the world.

Don’t act as if you are still in darkness.

Live in the freedom that Christ makes available in His light.

He that follows me will not walk in Darkness.

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” John 8:12 NKJV

This was what our Lord said after vindicating a woman caught in adultery.

The word “shall not” in the Greek is “Ou Me”. These words represent negation to an idea.

So you can either say “OU” or “ME`” if you want to say no to something.

The Lord used both words to proclaim the impossibility of being in light and darkness.

You cannot follow Jesus Christ and be in light and darkness.

It is not possible.

I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness. John 12:46 NKJV

How is it then that you still do the works of darkness sometimes?

Are you bothered why having made Jesus your Lord, you still sin?

Does it make you scared that the mistakes you made might take you outside of the light?

It is no news that we all make mistakes.

The best of all humans fail at a point in their lives.

These mistakes can happen in thoughts or in deeds.

In all cases, it is sin against a holy God.

The reason you make mistakes is that you give in to the desires of your flesh.

And don’t be mad about that, we all do.

Note that bad people do good things sometimes.

But does that take them out from darkness into the light?

No, it doesn’t. Because the translation from darkness to light is not based on the good you do.

Likewise, born-again Christians fall into sin sometimes as you know.

Does that mean the wrong you do takes you from light to darkness?

No, it doesn’t.

If it is not possible for you to be translated from darkness to light by your good behavior…

Do you think you can be reversed from light to darkness because of your bad behavior?

The answer is no.

You didn’t come into the light because you are good. No mistake can take you outside the light.

Christ’s finished work supersedes Adam’s destructive work.

For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. 1 Corinthians 15:22 NKJV

The reason there is a conversation about light and darkness is that of Adam.

And it is clear from scriptures that his sin brought death to all men

After Adam’s sin men did all they could to return to God but it was futile.

The promise made to Abraham could only come to pass through Christ Jesus.

It will only come to pass at the manifestation of the promised seed.

The child of Abraham that would bring the promise to pass is our Lord Jesus Christ.

Now to Abraham and to seed were the promises made, He saith not, and to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. Galatians 3:16

Both Christ and Adam are federal heads.

Whatever happens to one of them would happen to all that followed.

Adams actions brought humanity to perpetual darkness.

This blinded men to the plans of God for the world.

And because satan works in darkness, God’s man was robbed of all his benefits as God’s image.

But then our Lord Jesus Christ manifested to destroy the works of darkness.

Remember that whatever happened to Adam, happened to all that followed him.

Likewise, whatever happened or is happening to Jesus Christ at the moment is what should happen to you.

This is the reason the scriptures says, “As He is, so are we in this world.”

Christ Jesus’ work supersedes what Adam did.

Adams transgression plunged us into darkness.

Christ’s obedience translated us from darkness into the light of God.

Nothing can take you outside the light of God.

Once in the light, you are always in the light.

You can’t be in light and darkness. That’s the point I’ve been trying to make.

The following scriptures prove the point.

I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. John 12:46

I am the light of the world, he that follows me shall not walk in the darkness. John 8:12

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 1 John 1:7

The word cleanseth in Greek is Katharizo.

HELPS Word study describes it as- make pure (“clean”), removing all admixture (intermingling of filth).

The word is in a present tense in the scripture above. And the voice is active.

What that means is that is the blood of Jesus Christ is cleansing you even as you read this post.

Have you ever bothered to ask why the need for the blood in the light?

Let me help you with the answer.

The reason the blood is in the light is that you don’t leave the light when you sin or make a mistake.

You remain in the light. Remember I said you can’t be in light and darkness at the same time. This proves it again.

The blood of Jesus Christ takes care of all your mistakes within the light of God.

Making Jesus your Lord was the guarantee that you would never walk in darkness again.

Not knowing this truth is the reason you still think you can be light and darkness at the same time.

My prayer for you is that the Holy Spirit will open your eyes to the truths in the scriptures above.

Conclusion

There is no confederacy between light and darkness.

Our Lord Jesus Christ is the light of God to the world. And Satan heads darkness.

You can not be part of these two camps.

It is not possible to claim allegiance to the Lord Jesus Christ and Satan.

If you have made Jesus Christ your Lord and savior, then you are in the light.

And once you come over to the light you cannot leave the light.

The reason you cannot leave the light is that you didn’t put yourself in the light in the first place.

You are not in the light because you did anything good.

The light dawned upon you the day you made Jesus Christ your Lord and savior.

Likewise, your mistakes and sins cannot take you outside the light of Christ.

Knowing you are in the light makes you detest sin.

Being conscious of darkness makes you enjoy sins.

You are in the light. Know this truth and live in the reality of what Jesus Christ did on the cross for you.

Why you don’t have to give up anything to be born again.

May 2, 2018 By Emmanuel Onwuka Leave a Comment

born again

For you have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God. 1 Peter 1:23 NLT

If it were possible for you to give up all the ills in your life before coming to Jesus Christ…

Then you don’t need Jesus Christ.

It is heartbreaking to hear demands that you have to meet before you become a Christian today.

One reason the gospel is not appealing to the world today is because of the demands.

You still hear teachings that emphasize what to do and what not to do.

Pastors now do the work of the Holy Spirit by trying to change people.

What is the result of such endeavors?

The gospel is not preached.

And the people don’t see the beauty of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The preaching of the gospel is not about giving up a lifestyle.

It is about taking up a new identity.

The new identity means old things have passed away and all things have become new.

You are a new creation in Christ. Although after confessing Jesus as Lord this might not be evident in your behaviors.

But the gospel of Christ never emphasizes your weakness. It shows you the finished work of your Lord and savior.

And the more you know of Jesus Christ and His finished work, your life transforms.

Being born again isn’t about behavior modification. This leads to hypocrisy.

It is about life transformation. The transformation happens on the inside and is evident in your behaviors.

Being born again isn’t about changing your life on the outside through self-will.

it is about changing all that concerns you from the abundant life that is inside you.

Being born again is all about what Jesus can do.

“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. 30“For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Mathew 11:28-30 (NASB)

A lot of times you may have thought the Christian walk is about what you do.

It is not about what you can do but about what Christ did on the cross.

The religious mindset that pervades our time makes you work minded.

Instead of Jesus minded.

The promise of a new life by the Father is in Christ Jesus alone.

This is reason being born again will never be about you.

If you have it in mind that you have to maintain your born again status then you are wrong.

How did you get born again in the first place?

You believed the gospel of Jesus Christ, right?

Why then do you think that the way to remain born again is by giving up a wrong lifestyle?

Consider the verse we quoted above.

The Lord doesn’t demand you drop the load or burdens you have.

What the scripture says is that you should learn of Him.

Find out who you are in Christ and what the finished work is in your life and the conversation about giving up habits won’t come up again.

The reason for unbelief is because you are expecting too much from yourself.

If you could save yourself and maintain your salvation you won’t need Jesus Christ.

Since you considered being born again, then let Jesus finish what He started.

God is the giver and you are the receiver.

You cannot out-give God.

The greater blesses the lesser.

All your frustration is because you are trying to do God’s job in your life.

Remember that you do not support the root, the root supports you. Romans 11:18

This is one thing you forget.

Being born again of incorruptible seed means you started by believing the word of God.

You have to finish the walk by believing the Word of God.

God loved you before you considered knowing Him.

He proved this love by sending His Jesus Christ while you were a sinner.

And when Jesus Christ died on the cross for you He didn’t expect anything in return.

The only thing you have to do is to believe.

Any other effort in trying to earn what Jesus did on the cross is called the works of the Law.

And the works of the law frustrate your walk as a born again child of God.

The Father receives glory when you honor the work of the Son.

Instead of honoring the Son, we have replaced His finished work with works of the law.

The point I am trying to make here is that you can not out-do what Jesus did.

This is the reason the scriptures say the commandments of the Lord are not grievous.

If following Jesus Christ after being born again is worrisome for you, then you are not following His commands.

What then is the new command that you must follow?

Believe in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Love your neighbor as yourself. 1 John 3:23

What to believe about the Lord Jesus Christ.

The gospel is repulsive to the world because of the demands of men.

Our Lord Jesus Christ called this the traditions of men.

Instead of preaching the gospel undiluted, we now hear rules and regulations.

This is so frustrating.

Knowing and preaching against what is wrong is not enough.

You need to know what is right to replace the wrong beliefs.

And the best place to start is to see Jesus Christ the way the apostle presented Him in the gospel.

The first thing you have to believe is to know that you have the forgiveness of sins.

This forgiveness comes without conditions.

By that I mean, the day you became born again, all your sins, past, present, and future, are all forgiven.

Don’t be shocked. It is the truth.

And one reason you continue to misbehave despite being born again is that you don’t believe this truth.

Christ paid for all the sins you will ever commit.

Did Jesus die over 2000 years ago?

Where were you when He died on the cross?

If He tarries for another 200 years where will you be at that time?

You see my friend, the sacrifice of Jesus Christ is beyond time and space.

The Father did a one-time redemption work through Christ.

There cannot be a repetition.

You are either living in the reality of what Jesus Christ did, or you are going according to the rules of men.

The problem with following rules is that ends in frustration.

It makes you doubt what your savior did and what He is doing now.

And this affects the way you live and follow Him.

The promise of eternal life is for all that believe.

There are no conditions to that clause.

And the first step in living in that reality of the gospel is to know that all your sins are gone.

The gospel is about Jesus Christ.

There is popular parlance about teachings that are milk and bones.

According to some teachers, there are some things that a baby Christian won’t understand.

But the error I have noticed in this teaching, because I have been under some of them…

Is that the so-called matured Christians must know that after making Jesus your Lord, and being in the faith for a while…

The Lord won’t condone some kind of sins.

In other words, as long as you are a baby Christian, God condones some mistakes.

But, as you grow God deals with you with severe punishments when you make a mistake.

There are no scriptural proofs for these teachings.

The best they come up with in preaching this message is mentioning Moses, Saul and sometimes King David.

They all lived under the old covenant. That’s the common denominator.

And it is evil to compare anyone under the new covenant with anyone in the old covenant.

You have a far better covenant and promise.

In all sincerity, this is one reason people would rather remain babies in the faith instead of growing.

If growing would make God harsh with punishment, it is better to remain a baby. Common sense right?

The gospel of Jesus Christ is now replaced with performance Christianity.

Do good, get good and do bad get whacked mentality.

Your maturity in the faith is not about the years you have spent.

It is about growing in the word of righteousness.

Growing in the word of righteousness is in knowing, believing and walking in the truths of the righteousness of Jesus Christ.

The righteousness of Christ comes by faith.

It is not dependent on how well you perform, but on how well you believe.

When we replace this with how well you perform we are back to the works of the Law.

You became born again because you believed. Remain born again by continuing in your faith in Jesus Christ.

Faith in Christ alone

A sin conscious man will say preaching the righteousness of Christ will lead to lawlessness.

This is not true.

What we teach is not a permission to leave in bondage to sin.

It is faith in trusting Jesus Christ to finish the work He started.

If after being born again the rules and regulations don’t work in making you better…

You will become a hypocrite.

All men will see your outward performance and remain ignorant of your personal struggles.

The teachings on things to give up are wrong.

You don’t fight darkness with rules of defeating darkness.

Switch on the light and darkness disappears.

You are in the light because you are born again.

Christ Jesus is Lord in your life.

The light of the world resides in you.

To dispel the works of darkness, you only have to be conscious of the light.

Being born again should not be too much work for you.

It is the best thing that has happened to you.

Keep your eyes on Jesus Christ.

Find out who you are in the Word of God.

You have privileges.

There is access to the throne of Grace.

The Holy Spirit is inside you.

And you have all these through Grace because of your faith in Christ Jesus.

Don’t be bothered about what to give up.

Keep your eyes on the light that is inside you.

And all darkness will have no choice but to go.

How to change your world by confessing the word of God.

April 26, 2018 By Emmanuel Onwuka Leave a Comment

confessing the word

Confessing the word is the difference between mature and baby Christians.

This is so because everything in your life is a result of the word you speak.

The law established in Genesis that still stands today.

Everything God created reproduces after it’s kind.

A coconut tree will not bare grains.

God created you in His image and your creative force is akin to God’s creative force.

He created the universe with His words.

You are creating your world with your words.

It will scare you if you took note of the words you’ve spoken about yourself in the past week.

Not being mindful of your words does more damage than you think.

The way to correct this anomaly is by confessing the word of God.

Confessing the word is secret to success.

This is because the words you hear yourself speak shapes the image you have about yourself.

Confessing the word of God makes you see yourself as God sees you.

It also opens your spirit to what God’s Spirit wants to do to, and through, you.

Henceforth, you should strive to watch your words.

Don’t be loose with words. There is power in every word you speak. God made it so.

The problems in your life are as a result of wrong words you’ve spoken over time.

To make the change you have to start confessing the word of God.

Release power confessing the word of God

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” Proverbs 18:21 KJV

All the miracles Jesus did was through His words.

He spoke what He heard from the Father and changed the world around Him.

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, Luke 4:18 KJV

Our Lord did these things through His Words.

He spoke what God said He should speak.

The way you can do that is by confessing the word of God.

Your world might be filled with darkness at the moment.

You might be wondering how life can improve from where you find yourself.

It may be that your past is affecting your present and you are not sure about your future.

If you find yourself in this position you, please watch your words.

The way out is to go into the word of God and begin confessing the word.

There is immense power in the words you speak about yourself.

You might say I have tried that and it didn’t work.

If that’s your case then hear this…

We don’t confess the word of God to see if it will work or not.

If that’s your attitude it will never work for you.

Confessing the word makes it certain. God cannot go back on His Word.

It is not your bit to know how it will work. Your duty is confessing the word.

There is power in your tongue.

In fact, all creation around you responds to your orders.

James says that the tongue though small sets the course of your life.

Hence it is better to keep mute and not speak instead of speaking wrong words to your life.

Choose life by confessing the word of God.

“Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life so that you and your descendants might live! Deuteronomy 30:19 (NLT)

How do you choose life by heading to the Moses’ admonition to the Jews in the wilderness?

Proverbs say the power of life and death is in the tongue. Proverbs 18:21

What that means is that you choose life or death by what you speak.

If you are not happy with the results you have at the moment then you have to change your confessions.

Don’t continually claim to be managing.

You will have whatever you say.

If you confess that you are in a war with the Devil…

You are rejecting the victory of our Lord Christ Jesus.

Speaking weak words about yourself is not a sign of humility. It is foolishness.

You are what the word of God says you are.

The way you bring God’s word into manifestation is by confessing the word of God.

Make time to hear the word preached.

Study the word for yourself.

And don’t forget to meditate on the word.

Meditation is the key to your success.

Hearing and believing the word is good.

Also, confessing the word or meditating on the word, crowns it all.

This was the admonition given to Joshua when he was about to lead the Jews into the promise land.

Despite his tight schedules, he had one thing he mustn’t neglect…

Meditate on the Word day and night.

If the only dose of the Word you have is what you get on Sunday services, then you are wrong.

The day you start seeing the word as the means to change your world, that’s the day your world would change.

Imagine having one meal a week without snacks and other things to crunch on.

In less than a month, it will be obvious that you are not feeding well.

Even if you want to refuse the truth, friends and loved ones will bring it to your notice.

The Word is the food to your spirit.

It is the bread you need daily.

Our Lord Jesus Christ said He is the living bread.

He also called himself the Word of God.

You need that bread daily.

Also, it is not enough to read it and forget it.

You have to memorise it and meditate on it.

Meditating on it means to speak it yourself. Either under your breath or aloud if that is possible.

You have to start confessing the word of God over your life.

If the key to success was to climb a 20 feet tree 10 times a day and jump down…

Would you dare to do it if it will give you peace, health and success in every area of your life?

I don’t know about you, but I will do it if that’s what He says.

But thanks be God He doesn’t make such outrageous demands on you.

He only advises you to eat the Word and follow up by confessing the word over your life.

Speak it until you see it.

We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore we speak. 2 Corinthians 4:13

It is possible to hear the word preached and not understand a thing.

Even when you understand it, you can struggle to believe it.

We all have what we grew up to believe that is not in line with the Word of God.

To deal with this constraints in your heart you have to resort to confessing the word.

Remember that I mentioned earlier that you don’t confess the word to try if it will work.

You confess the word of God because you know it will work.

What then should be your response if you are not seeing it work immediately after confessing the word?

Patience!

This doesn’t mean you will confess and wait for the manifestation of your confessions.

it means after confessing the word, you continue to confess the word until you see it happen.

Continuously confessing the word is not to change God’s heart.

It is to change you.

When you hear yourself speak the Word, it breaks down barriers you have planted in your heart.

The word changes you and causes you to believe for the best from the Lord.

I encourage you not give up.

The day you start confessing the word angels go to work.

Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word. Psalm 103:20

Angels carryout the Word of God they hear you speak.

Don’t annul the work of the angels by saying this is not working.

There is a need for you to have patience and remain in he word after you have confessed it.

Conclusion

Confessing the word of God is the way out of every trouble you find yourself.

All the wisdom and revelation you need is in the word of God.

You are either choosing death or life everyday through the Word you speak.

And the word you speak is a product of the words inside you.

This is the reason you have to place priority in studying the Word of God.

It doesn’t matter how long you study the Word.

Start small and grow into it.

What is most important is that you find time to open the Word and hear the Lord speak to you.

Whenever you find a word that speaks to your heart, memorise it.

And confess it to yourself all day.

Doing this changes wrong beliefs that you might not even be aware of.

God uses His words in your mouth to change things in your favour.

If your world is not beautiful as you hoped it would be…

You can change it all by confessing the word of God daily.
