For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.” Romans 1:16-17 (NKJV) emphasis mine
Antinomianism is the accusation against true gospel preachers. Saying we give people the license to continue in sin. Yet this is untrue.
And why not say, “Let us do evil that good may come”?—as we are slanderously reported and as some affirm that we say. Their condemnation is just. Romans 3:8
Anyone under the Grace of God cannot enjoy the pleasures of sin. For sin will not have dominion over you, for you are not under the Law but under Grace.
Preachers who use the Law as a means to get you to live right are not persecuted. But preaching the Law will increase sin because the strength of sin is the Law.
Grace teachings emphasise Jesus Christ and His finished work.
The power of the gospel is knowing what Jesus did to set you free and not what you can do to be free.
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it.
Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” Mathew 11:28-30 (MSG)
The gospel is not complicated. It takes men with limited knowledge and understanding of the Word of God to pervert the Gospel.
Christ Jesus made the gospel easy. The apostles made the gospel easy. To understand the power of the gospel is to see Jesus and His finished work.
If you are hearing the true gospel that apostle Paul preached you will fall in love with Jesus Christ daily because of what He did for you. He saved and reconciled you to God.
Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation,
that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. 2Corinthians 5:18-19 (NKJV)
The power of the gospel comes alive in the revelation of the righteousness of God.
At the moment you have the same righteousness Jesus Christ has at the right hand of the Father because as He is so are you in this world.
The power of living a righteous life in Christ is not in a rulebook. It is in believing that you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
God did all He can by sending Jesus Christ to die and take your place. What you do with that sacrifice depends on you. You can accept it and live victoriously. Or continue to struggle by trying to please God with your efforts.
There is no longer a sin barrier between you and God. Your knowledge gap of what Jesus did is the reason you are not living a victorious life.
The sacrifice of Jesus Christ dealth with sin once and forever. If you continue to focus on how to deal with sin, sin will increase. But if you focus on His righteousness you will live a holy life.
For God’s will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time. Hebrews 10:10 (NLT)
But this Man, after He had offered ONE SACRIFICE FOR SINS FOREVER, sat down at the right hand of God, Hebrews 10:12 (NKJV) emphasis mine
God’s plan is not for you to struggle in life or with sin. All your struggles are proofs of a knowledge gap. Expose yourself to the gospel.
The power of the gospel works in your life as you hear about Jesus Christ, His finished work and His present ministry at the right hand of the Father.
Your past and present might be horrible. But Christ Jesus is a master of changing lives. If you believe the gospel, there are no limitations to what God can do to, and through, you.
Believe the gospel. The total forgiveness of sins. Believe that there is no more condemnation for you. Believe that God loves you.
