Wrong believing results to wrong living.
If you believe that after making Jesus your Lord and Savior there is a possibility of losing your salvation because of sin…
Then you are believing the wrong gospel.
You didn’t save yourself with your good behaviors and your wrong behavior cannot un-save you.
Ignorance makes you assume a strained fellowship with Jesus Christ when you fail.
It is a once and for all union that cannot break.
To enjoy this fellowship with Jesus, you have to keep the commandment of God.
The commandment I am talking about is not the 10 commandments God gave to Moses.
There is a new commandment. This commandment is not grievous. It is the commandment of love. If you find it hard to understand, then you are not hearing the gospel.
God made fellowship with Jesus Christ through His Spirit very easy.
And the fellowship with Jesus Christ and His Spirit starts by believing in Jesus Christ and His finished work.
There is no longer a sin problem. You now have a belief problem.
Your knowledge about unbroken fellowship with Jesus Christ despite your sins doesn’t mean you can go on sinning.
If grace saves you, sin will not have dominion over you.
The reason I am bringing this up at this point is to give you an assurance when you make a mistake.
Your Father in heaven is more interested in restoring you when you make a mistake than punishing you.
Hence knowing the unbroken fellowship with Jesus Christ should make you more conscious of His presence at all times.
Being aware of His presence empowers you to say no to sin. And live in victory as planned for you through the cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Fellowship with Jesus Christ depends on keeping commandments of God.
And this is the commandment of God: We must believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as he commanded us.
Those who obey God’s commandments remain in fellowship with him, and he with them. And we know he lives in us because the Spirit he gave us lives in us. John 3:23-24 (NLT)
In the old testament, Moses commanded the people to keep the commandments of God.
The summit of the commandment was-
“You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. Deuteronomy 6:5
The interesting thing about this commandment is that it was not possible for anyone to keep it at that time.
Neither is it possible for you to keep it now.
It is gruesome to hear preachers emphasis this verse of bible in the name of wanting you to love God.
Even Moses failed to love God in this way in his lifetime.
The teachers of the Law in the book of Mathew asked Jesus Christ about this same commandment.
Our Lord responded by quoting this same verse to them.
Note that the Pharisees were not interested to learn from Jesus Christ, they were there to show off what they thought they knew.
But when John wrote this same commandment, he made the commandment easy for you keep.
And this is the commandment of God: We must believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as he commanded us. 1 John 3:23 (NLT)
Loving God with all your heart, soul and spirit has is now believing in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ.
Knowing this truth is the key to remaining in fellowship with Jesus Christ and His Spirit.
You are in light and not in darkness
Earlier in the post, I mentioned that fellowship with Jesus Christ cannot break.
I didn’t stop there. I also said even your mistakes cannot break the fellowship with Jesus Christ.
On what basis do I make this claim? I make this claim on the basis of the scriptures.
Follow me again to the epistle of John.
This is the message we heard Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all.
So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth.
But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:5-7
Before we go forward please take note of this caveat;
“No one who experiences the grace and love of Jesus Christ enjoys sinning.”
For sin will not have dominion over you for you are not under the Law but under grace. Romans 6:14.
Does this then mean that you won’t make mistakes?
No! of course, you will make mistakes as a Christian. This is the reason for the provisions in the scripture above.
The apostle John confirms this in 1 John 2:1
My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous.
So you see that the Lord knows all the mistakes you will ever make. And made provisions for it.
Your mistakes do not break the fellowship with Jesus Christ nor take you outside the light of God.
Apostle John through the Spirit of God made a statement you must take to heart;
But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:7
The reason it is important you know this is because some people claim that when you sin or make a mistake you leave the light of God.
This means fellowship with Jesus Christ and His Spirit breaks at that point.
Then when you confess your sins and repent, you come back into the light.
What if I told you, by the Spirit of the living God, that the day you made Jesus Christ your Lord you entered His light once and for all…
Would you believe me?
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son Colossians 1:13
The word delivered is rhuomai in Greek.
It is in aorist tense. An action that happened in the past without future repetition.
“J. Thayer, says it means to draw out . . . to one’s self” – i.e. to rescue for oneself (to oneself). (“rescue”) implies removing someone in the midst (presence) of danger or oppression, i.e. delivered “right out of” and to (for) the rescuer.”
While “translated” is methistémi in Greek. It means to change places. To translate, transfer or remove (Interlinear Bible).
The tense is aorist and the voice is active. That means your translation from darkness to light remains active as you read at the moment.
You left darkness the day you confessed Jesus Christ. And you will never return to darkness.
There is more to this revelation. Turn with me to John 8:12
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
Shall not in Greek is “OU ME”. It is a double negation. You can’t follow Jesus Christ and be in darkness.
No sin or devil can compromise your fellowship with Jesus Christ and His Spirit.
Yet, if you believe wrong, you will live wrong.
The blood of Jesus Christ deals with your sins in the light.
But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. (Emphasis mine)1 John 1:7
Did you bother to ask yourself why you need the blood of Jesus Christ in the light?
The reason for mentioning the blood when you are in the light is because you never leave the light.
When you are good you are in the light. Even when you make a mistake you remain in fellowship with Jesus Christ in the light.
This is the reason the provision for the blood to cleanse you is in the light.
If this is sounding too good to be true then you have most likely been listening to the diluted gospel apostle warned about in Galatians 1.
This message glorifies Jesus Christ and my prayer for you is to take it in good faith and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you into the truth.
If you have made Jesus Christ your Lord then be assured of the unbroken fellowship with Him.
Will this make you sin more knowing you are saved by Grace?
God forbid! How can we that are dead to sin live therein? It’s not possible.
You will make mistakes. Yes, you will.
This message is to help you know and be certain that the Lord knows all about you and still loves you.
Allow Him to love you into wholeness.
Believing in Jesus Christ is akin to keeping the commandment of God.
The summary of what I am saying is;
Believe in Jesus Christ the Son of God and you have fulfilled all the requirements of the Law.
Christ reconciled you to God. Please be reconciled to God in your heart.
If you still believe that fellowship with Jesus Christ and His Spirit can break, you will struggle with receiving His love.
Check your life and consider when you had it bad in your spiritual walk…
You will notice that it is most likely the time you thought the Lord was far from you.
The enemy uses this strategy to make you remain in failure and defeat.
Our Lord doesn’t leave you when you fail.
He is right there in the midst of your failures to lead you out.
The victory you seek over the flesh is in knowing and believing that fellowship with Jesus Christ cannot break.
